Maroon Perfect
A night photo of the Milky Way over Maroon Bells near Aspen, Colorado in the fall.
Waking up at nearly midnight, and stepping out of my tent, I felt two things immediately: the chill - it was cold! - and the thrill. I had waited for a year to get this photo, and get the perfect Milky Way placement over the fall colors at Maroon Bells. Certainly, I wasn't the first to take the shot (there were more than 10 people the night I took this), but I was excited for the challenge. As an engineer by training and trade, this photo is the perfect combination of art and science.
